What it does

  • Produce clean, legible transcripts and structured notes
  • Ship with pin, clip, lanyard, wristband and dock in the box
  • Carry serious compliance paperwork — ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA
  • Work predictably, which sounds dull until you have used the alternatives

What it doesn’t

  • Publish any code, or let you self-host
  • Give much away free — 300 minutes a month, then you pay
  • Survive its own company any better than Limitless did

Closed. Plaud’s answer to the trust question is certification rather than transparency — ISO 27001 and 27701, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, EN 18031. That is a real answer and it is more than most here can show. It is not the same answer as publishing your source, and it does not help you if the company is sold.

Against the Limitless Pendant

How it compares to the one you’re losing.

The closest like-for-like replacement for what the Limitless Pendant actually did, and by most accounts the better product: cleaner output, better documented, better supported. The catch is that it is the same shape of bet you already lost. An independent company today can be an acquisition next December, and there is no published code to keep it alive if that happens. Over three years the subscription will also cost you more than the device did.

Who it’s for

People whose recordings are meetings and work product, who want it to just work, and who will pay a subscription for that.

Not for: Anyone who wants to own the stack, or who resents paying monthly for their own conversations.
